Alpha Actors Run for BAPAM

Friday, September 1st, 2017

Thank you very much David, Anah, Lindon, Jessica, Patsy and Adam of Alpha Actors who are fundraising for BAPAM with a 10k run through London’s Olympic Park on September 16.

Alpha Actors are supporting the fantastic work that BAPAM does helping people working in the arts overcome injuries and health problems. Adam experienced first hand back in 2015, through injury to his knee, how brilliant they are. BAPAM’s expert orthopaedic consultant gave him a second opinion assessment and a report for his GP and surgeon which helped speed along the timeline of keyhole surgery. The service was invaluable and became a beacon of light during a challenging physical and mental period.

Frances Wilson is Fundraising for BAPAM

Tuesday, March 14th, 2017

Frances Wilson PhotoWe are very grateful to Frances Wilson, aka music blogger The Cross-Eyed Pianist who, as well as organising Graham Fitch’s sold out performance of the Goldberg Variations in aid of BAPAM, has now set up a fundraising page on Just Giving to help support our work. Here’s why Frances is supporting us:

I and a number of other musician friends and colleagues have benefitted greatly from the expert, specialist services and support offered by BAPAM, including access to physiotherapists and hand specialists, workshops and training days examining issues such as posture, exercise and coping with performance anxiety, and free leaflets and helpsheets via their website.

Please help BAPAM continue its important work supporting musicians and performers by making a donation.

Thank you.

BAPAM make a real difference to musicians and all performers who are overcoming work-related health problems. We enable arts professionals to make informed decisions, access effective care and get back to performing as quickly as possible.

Peak Performance 2014

Wednesday, March 12th, 2014

Ian MacDonald and an intrepid team of BAPAM supporters are climbing three Peaks in the Brecon Becons, South Wales. There are now a few Welsh 3 Peak Events but this is the original challenge, a circular walk of about 20 miles and 5000′ of ascent, which crosses over three prominent peaks around Abergavenny in Monmouthshire: Blorenge, Sugar Loaf and Skirrid.

Sponsoring the team will help BAPAM continue supporting UK performing arts: http://www.justgiving.com/Ian-MacDonald6

Performing arts professionals work in a competitive, highly skilled and often poorly paid industry. Behind the scenes, the physical and psychological pressures can be immense, and many people experience health problems or injuries affecting their ability to work. Access to expert health advice and support can be crucial for long term wellbeing throughout such a demanding career. BAPAM is a unique healthcare charity supporting individual performers and providing broader education and training.
