Elissa Jane Finn is a Speech and Language Therapist and singer originally from Brisbane, Australia. Elissa has experience working with clients with voice and upper airway symptoms and a specialist interest in working with singers, teachers and occupational voice users. In addition to her Speech and Language training, Elissa has tertiary qualifications in contemporary singing voice performance and pedagogy and taught singing to children and adults. Experiencing her own voice difficulties as a young performer also means that she understands the physical and emotional challenges of living with a voice problem as a professional singer.
Currently working both privately as part of the team at Voice Care Centre, and in the NHS providing care to clients with a range of communication and swallowing difficulties, Elissa enjoys exploring the social, physical and emotional factors which impact voice and general wellbeing. Other areas of interests include principles of skill acquisition and building relationships between Speech and Language Therapists and Singing Voice Teacher communities.
Elissa can help with issues relating to voice disorders, voice problems and singing technique difficulties. She provides voice assessment (auditory perceptual and acoustic analysis), and Speech & Language therapy for voice disorders.
