The best way to enjoy a long career as a musician is to start healthy practise and playing techniques from the outset, that’s why teachers are so important in the development of musicians. Nurturing talent as well as teaching technique are two of the key responsibilities of teaching and in this latest Healthy Practice webinar, we discuss how teachers can incorporate healthy habits into their teaching, whatever age your students.

Join Dr Naomi Norton, lecturer in Music Education at the University of York; Dr Sarah Upjohn, physiotherapist and BAPAM clinician; and Professor Derek Aviss OBE, Emeritus Professor of Education at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, as they discuss the key role played by teachers in mastering technique and offer useful tips that you can put into practice in your teaching. Derek will be assisted by his former student, Melody Lin, who appears regularly as a Cellist with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. She will share her experiences as to how she recovered from performance related injury by understanding and implementing efficient practice techniques.
