about companies and practices listed on our directory

The BAPAM Directory lists individual healthcare practitioners and professional practices, partnerships and companies. We include high quality and accessible care, provided independently of BAPAM, both privately and within the NHS.

Practices and companies that we list are clinically-led, and may employ a variety of professionals, including multidisciplinary teams combining clinical, coaching and social approaches. We do not list companies that provide purely educational or non-clinical support services.

When we list a company or practice, we do not ask them to provide complete professional details for every individual practitioner providing their services. They confirm that they have a clinical lead in place who meets our required professional standards and that the practice meets standards including:

• All the professionals that work for the company are qualified, professionally registered, insured, have an up to date DBS check, necessary experience, training and supervision.
• Initial assessments are carried out by a registered healthcare professional and all ongoing treatment and support services are provided by suitable professionals.
• Care provided is evidence informed, for example treatments recommended by NICE.
• Clear patient information is available including details of the professionals who provide care, treatment pathways and all costs.
• The company has a published complaints procedure.
