Gain strategies and techniques to help you work through performance anxiety this Mental Health Awareness Week

There’s a lot to deal with right now. The combination of a cost of living crisis, post-Brexit touring challenges and the repercussions of the pandemic make it a tough time to be working in music.

It’s okay to experience some anxiety through this period, but it’s important to have some strategies to help you cope through the difficult times. So take some time with us this Mental Health Awareness Week to equip yourself with a toolkit of techniques to work through periods of anxiety through two online self-care sessions.

These group sessions led by an accredited counsellor will give you a chance to explore the causes and effects of different forms of anxiety, and leave you with a selection of strategies to help you through them.

We know attending online sessions can be intimidating, so you are welcome to engage as much or as little as you like. Feel free to join in the conversation via the chat box or just sit back and listen, and to have your camera on or off as you feel most comfortable.

In this second session, Lucy Heyman, CEO of crisis prevention organisation Elevate Music, leads you through the causes and effects of performance anxiety as a musician, alongside techniques for getting through the difficult moments.

Upcoming sessions:

16 May: Anxiety
